An Emerging Learning Architecture for Youth Systems Change: Early Lessons from The Youth Systems Collaborative
The Youth Systems Collaborative is a field-building venture, co-created by a group of global development organizations in support of shared learning from place-based, youth systems change initiatives. We are striving to move from fragmented, siloed programs for youth to sustained, systemic efforts with demonstrated positive outcomes at scale. We are learning through case study methodology, which allows us to capture the complexity of eco-systems in developing country sites. In a TEDx style session, we will introduce the YSC and its Learning Framework, and then three YSC partners will briefly present emerging finding from their Youth System Case Studies focusing on strategic partnerships, decision-making, metrics, and policy and budget implications. Rather than focus on inputs or outcomes of particular projects, the YSC will amplify learning on critical dimensions of systems change, including how multi-sectoral partnerships are coordinated and on how place-based approaches can lead to population-level impacts on youth employment, education, and well-being. The audience will be invited to interrogate and problem-solve systems-change challenges raised by the three case studies.
