The idea of global citizenship has existed for several millennia. In ancient Greece, Diogenes declared himself a citizen of the world, while the Mahaupanishads of ancient India spoke of the world as one family. Today, education for global citizenship is recognized in many countries as a strategy for helping children and youth prosper in their personal and professional lives and contribute to building a better world.
Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator and RTI International
This curriculum presents an approach for introducing young people to LinkedIn and other digital professional networks, to help them understand the multiple functions of the sites (signaling, networking, labor market information) and develop the habit of using such tools throughout their careers. This curriculum was developed by RTI International and Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator in South Africa and is calibrated for a short training course, such as Harambee’s 8-week training programs, though it could be easily adapted for short or longer training experiences.
The labor market assessment guide will assist users to analyze employment and workforce development in a given country for project design and policymaking. An introductory narrative will characterize existing frameworks and information useful for a labor market analysis.

But we also see that young people everywhere are increasingly concerned about issues of governance, corruption, and both regional and national security.
EMpower—The Emerging Markets Foundation
This resource kit was put together to provide references and easy-to-use tools and resources for participants in the “Shattering Stereotypes Learning Exchange on Nontraditional Jobs for Young Women”. This learning exchange, which took place in January 2015, brought together select EMpower grantee partners and other experts working to position and prepare girls and young women for jobs usually reserved for males.
The World Bank, Adolescent Girls Initiative
The AGI Resource Guide features lessons and resources that the AGI developed and were found (based on experience) to be very useful in practice. The guide is designed for staff in government line ministries who are working on youth skills training and practitioners and World Bank teams that are supervising these projects. AGI resources and lessons are intended to help make skills training programs more inclusive of and effective for young women.

The package consists of a guide for facilitators and toolkit that provide hands-on examples of recruitment practices and workplace situations.

Microsoft and Making Cents collaborated to offer this framework to support development of a common language and greater understanding of the unique role that each stakeholder can play in the youth workforce development field. Our hope is that they will contribute to greater cooperation, joint projects and increased youth economic opportunities created by information and communication technologies.
