Webinar Resources | Mining Youth Data for Actionable Insights: The 2017 Global Youth Wellbeing Index
Making Cents was joined by the International Youth Foundation and Hilton for an interactive session on a holistic measurement tool for youth wellbeing that included both objective and youth perceptions data from 30 countries. Ritu Sharma, principle author of the Index, highlighted key findings in economic opportunity and civic engagement and walked participants through how to use the open source data to inform programmatic and investment decisions. Daniella Foster, Hilton’s Senior Director for Global Corporate Responsibility, shared insights from their global youth strategy and how Hilton will use the Index to inform their youth development efforts in 2018.

Ritu Sharma is the lead author of the 2017 Global Youth Wellbeing Index. Previously, as founder of Women Thrive Worldwide, Ritu brought the voices of women around the globe to Washington’s highest-level decision makers. Ritu’s advocacy was instrumental in the creation of the White House Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence Globally and the USAID’s Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy in 2012. She is author of Teach a Woman to Fish: Overcoming Poverty Around the Globe, a firsthand account of how women in developing countries are leaving poverty and how American women can help them the most.
Senior Director of Global Corporate Responsibility
Daniella Foster is the Senior Director of Global Corporate Responsibility at Hilton. A policy innovator and social entrepreneur, she has worked in business, government and the non-profit sectors leading partnerships and initiatives that grow small/medium enterprises, connect entrepreneurs from around the world, develop youth job skills and accelerate innovation through crowdfunding. She previously led Global Corporate Affairs and Science Communications for Mars Symbioscience, the in-house innovation incubator of Mars, Incorporated. Prior to joining Mars, Daniella served as Director of Partnerships at the U.S. Department of State, where she led the establishment of social impact projects in 165 countries.
