Youth Co-operative Model of Banking: The Story of CCA/CUA

Canadian Co-operative Association

The Canadian Co-operative Association presented on a panel under the Financial Services and Capabilities Track at the 2013 Youth Economic Opportunities Conference. CCA's Youth Savings Program inculcate savings habit, leadership, management and accounting skills into youth through co-operative savings system (credit unions). Since its inception in 1999, 150,000 students have had the opportunity of being part of this program. Over 1.9million US Dollars have been saved through the system.

This presentation is an introduction to UniBRAIN, an initiative of the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa. UniBRAIN is an initiative for advancing agribusiness incubation and improved agribusiness education in Africa. It is supported by Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Danida), and facilitated by a team of seven partner institutions. One of these is the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), which hosts the UniBRAIN coordination unit at its Secretariat in Accra, Ghana.
