The discussion will draw from the Enhancing Youth Employment program (EYE), a Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) project implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and Management Development Associates (MDA). EYE supports employment opportunities for young women and men graduates from schools and universities in Kosovo by facilitating their transition into the labor market. There will be a brief introduction to HELVETAS' perspective on key elements of an Inclusive Market Systems Approach applied to youth employment. The speaker will outline some of the experiences and results HELVETAS has gained from its youth employment programs in the Balkans region as well as share some of the challenges that accompany this approach, and invite discussion with attendees around this as well as other open questions that have been raised through implementation (e.g., building interventions on a vision of the future world of work, quality of jobs, environmental concerns).
