TRAINING: Enterprise Development Program for Youth
The Microfinance Association
The Microfinance Association, through its Fast Track10 program, intends to work with a number of youth and microfinance institutions in Ghana. The FastTrack10 program is targeted at youths between the ages of 18 and 25, and the objectives are to:
Use entrepreneurship as a strategy to tackle unemployment among youths;
Provide financial education;
Provide personalized support to delegates attending;
Provide business support advisor;
Provide enterprise development training;
Develop viable business projects;
Assess capital by collaborating with microfinance institutions in developing a product to target youths.
Introduction to starting a business in Ghana;
Entrepreneurship success stories;
Basic computer skills – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet & e-mail;
How successful entrepreneurs think – getting in the right frame of mind;
Researching the viability of a business idea;
Legal aspects of running a business;
Management functions and activities involved in running a business;
Costing and pricing, including the relationships between costs, revenue and profits;
Understanding demand & supply – over & under, and how it influences the market;
Developing a business plan using the Microfinance Association template.
Course Fees and Venue:
The course fee is USD 100 per participant for the one-week program.
As a starting point, the Microfinance Association and the LakeDale Global Development Advisors have agreed to sponsor five delegates for this program on a first come first served basis. Interested candidates should send their resume stating why they are interested in participating.
Microfinance Association would be delighted to hear from organizations that are willing to sponsor this program as part of their corporate social responsibility. A report will be produced.
