CONFERENCE: Youth Empowerment Through the SDGs: Interns with a Mission 2016

United Nations Office at Geneva

It is our pleasure to invite you to the annual event entitled “Interns with a Mission”, to take place on Monday, 18 April 2016 from 15:00 to 17:00 in Room XVIII at the Palais des Nations.

The event is aimed at bringing together interns in Permanent Missions, International Organizations and NGOs to share their experiences and to develop a greater sense of community among the next generation of diplomats. It further provides a platform that seeks to enable the exchange between interns, UN professionals and diplomats, and to provide a place for challenging discussions

In light of the strong emphasis that a wide range of actors in International Geneva are currently placing on the implementation process of the newly adopted SDGs, this year’s discussion is shaped around the topic "Youth empowerment through the SDGs". Central to the moderated debate will be a challenging motion which the designated speakers will have to either defend or object to.

To facilitate an interactive discussion, all interns are encouraged to visit the dedicated Facebook page www.facebook.com/IWMgeneva prior to the event to answer several brief survey questions, which will serve as the basis for the exchange.

The deadline for registration for "Interns with a Mission" is 14 April 2016 at 9.00 am. Registration is compulsory for anyone not in possession of a valid grounds pass for the Palais des Nations.

Attention: Please consider to plan in enough time to enter the Palais des Nations. Badges can be collected at the Pregny gate upon showing a valid identification document.
