Twitter Chat: Strengthening the Role of Entrepreneurship in Development

Chemonics

ntrepreneurship is an undeniable driver for economic development in emerging countries. The international development community has been increasing its role in developing the global entrepreneurship ecosystem by designing, creating, and tracking activities to spur entrepreneurship. Global Entrepreneurship Week is a perfect opportunity to reflect on past accomplishments, define persistent barriers for entrepreneurs and find a way forward.

On Friday, November 20 from 10 - 11 a.m. ET, Chemonics International is leading a Twitter chat discussing crucial aspects of entrepreneurship in international development. We’ll be joined by Wade Channel, Sr. Economic Growth Advisor for Gender, Office of Gender Empowerment and Women's Equality at USAID (@ChannellWade), Hub 387 (@hub387), Vital Voices (@VitalVoices) and the Mennonite Economic Development Associates (@medadotorg). The chat will raise questions on the role of woman and youth in entrepreneurship, innovative methods to leveraging finance for youth entrepreneurs, key skills and drivers behind successful entrepreneurs, and more. The discussion will cover constraints, opportunities, innovations, successes, and setbacks in entrepreneurship programming.

Chemonics will be participating using its Twitter account: @Chemonics. To join in the conversation, use your own Twitter account and tweet us your questions using the hashtag #GEW4dev. We look forward to having you be a part of this discussion!
