Voice & Agency: Empowering Women and Girls for Shared Prosperity

World Bank

After two years, many consultations, and many more hours of work, our team will launch a groundbreaking report on 14 May, with Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, and UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

The report shines a spotlight on the value of enabling women and girls to fulfill their potential and of amplifying their voices. It highlights egregious gaps and constraints and reviews promising policies and interventions. Underlining that women's agency--their ability to make decisions and act on them independently--has concrete as well as intrinsic value, this report puts advancing agency for women and girls squarely on the international development agenda.
