2.3 Policy and Financing

Young entrepreneurs need supports and opportunities in order to launch and maintain their businesses. The types of support and opportunities they need varies depending on a number of factors, including young peoples’ entrepreneurial ambitions (e.g., necessity versus opportunity entrepreneurs), market and policy contexts, and the stage of business development (e.g., start-up versus well-established). At the 2012 GYEOC, a prominent strand of learning focused on policy, financing, and context for enterprise development. These themes have a significant impact on the entrepreneurial landscape for young people.
