DJA Network

DJA Network of Grantees and Partners Preparing High-Potential Disadvantaged Youth for Digital Jobs

The three phases include:

  1. Current Situation Assessment – during this stage, experts from Making Cents  and EOH will contact each network member to conduct individual, personalized one hour long interviews in order to understand the exact process and tools the organization is using presently when selecting candidates for its programs, or for jobs. The purpose of this phase is to identify unique characteristics of each network members, their unique needs and challenges and their specific goals in the area of screening candidates. Also, the outcome of this stage will be to understand where various network members come together, which specific areas for improvements are shared by various organizations and what topics related to screening candidates could benefit all network members the most. (March-April 2015)
  2. Capacity Building Events – the DJA network will host two 1.5-day long network learning events in South Africa and Kenya, also accessible via video conferencing, facilitated by experts from Making Cents and EOH, where organizations will receive practical, state-of-the-art information about best practices in screening candidates into programs and/or employment/entrepreneurship. The purpose of these events is to advance the understanding of all network members of the most efficient and effective screening processes and tools, and to facilitate application of those principles to individual situations, challenges and goals of each organization. The outcome of these events will be for each network member to develop their own plan for advancing their own processes and tools for screening candidates. (May 2015)

  3. Partner Solution Implementation – during this phase, the same team from EOH and Making Cents will provide individualized implementation support to each network member through one-hour consultation meetings. The purpose of these consultations is to assist each organization as they implement improvements in their screening processes or consider additional screening tools. The outcome of this stage will be the increased sophistication, effectiveness, and efficiency of screening processes and tools (at reasonable costs) for all participating network members. (May-June 2015)
