Applications Open: IV Young America Forum, Panama
The Seventh Summit of the Americas "Prosperity with Equity: The Challenge of Cooperation in the Americas" will be held in Panama City, Panama in April 10-11, 2015. As part of the process of involving Social Actors in the Summit, the IV Youth Forum of the Americas "Youth: Partners for Prosperity" will be held in April 8-10 April, 2015. The Young Americas Forum (IV Forum) is the official youth participation space generated by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) where youth takes part actively in the processes of the Summits of the Americas. The IV Forum event VII Summit of the Americas, will focus its discussions on the topic: "Prosperity with Equity: The Challenge of Cooperation in the Americas". The IV Forum brings together young people between 18 and 30 years old, citizens of the countries invited to the Summit, in response to the core topics of the VII Summit of the Americas. In doing so, young leaders will make recommendations, showcase their actions and propose strategies for joint collaboration with the governments of the Western Hemisphere to achieve the "Mandates for Action" that result from the VII Summit. Please find a brief description of the procedures for applying to participate in the IV Forum: The application form and supporting documents must be submitted no later than March 15, 2015 at 11:59 pm Eastern Time (EST), there will be NO EXCEPTIONS. The IV Forum is organized in collaboration between the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, and the Organization of American States (OAS). II. PRE - SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS
Young people interested in participating should complete and submit the application form before March 15, 2015. The application process is open and inclusive, includes the participation of young leaders, proactive, innovative and entrepreneurs from two angles: young people selected as finalists of theTalent Competition and Innovation of the Americas: www.ticamericas.net and additionally young people who have participated in the preparation process for the IV Youth Forum of the Americas are invited: www.yabt.net/foro. Additionally, youth who participated in presence of national and regional consultations Post Agenda 2015 and organized youth from the UN system are invited. Considering that the number of participants is limited within the forum, the selection of participants will follow the following criteria: 1. Equitable geographical representation and gender; 2. Relevant experience and knowledge of the issues of the Seventh Summit of the Americas; Additionally the active participation will be taken in consideration in the process of preparation for the IV Youth Forum of the Americas, which has been developing since its launch on October 27, 2014, through dialogues and national and virtual consultations. III. PARTICIPATION IN THE CONSULTATION PROCESS OF THE IV FORUM
• Underscore the activity or activities of the IV Forum that you have organized or you have participated and nationals and/or regionals consultations for the Agenda Post 2015 and Youth (including date, place, city, country and partner organization). (either National Dialogue, Virtual Consultation, or online survey) Include link to the report (if applicable). • Cover letter denoting the reasons to participate in IV Forum, addressing the contributions you made as young leader to the IV Forum. (MAX 400 words). • An action plan for follow-up activities of the IV forum, responding to the actions that you will develop after your return to your home country to assure continuity and monitor the IV Forum’s goals achievement. You should include methodology (either quantitative o qualitative) that measures the success of the VII Summit Declaration (MAX 400 words). • If you represent a youth organization, you should incorporate the following to your application: a) a scan-copy of a membership certification to an organization/association/movement; b) a scan-copy of the statutes of the organization; c) an institutional mission statement and description of the objectives of the institution, signed by your organization’s director or legal representative.
