DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is funding master scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance at German institution in Germany. Students of Africa, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia as well as from countries in the Middle East can apply for these scholarships.This programme is designed to further qualify future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration according to the principles of Good Governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life. The DAAD supports over 100,000 German and international students und researchers around the globe each year – making it the world’s largest funding organisation of its kind.

The African Union Youth Volunteers Corps (AU-YVC) is one of African Union’s initiatives for promoting youth participation, capacity building and empowerment through service and skills exchange, driven by the philosophy of Pan-Africanism and Youth Leadership. The Program is in line with the African Youth Charter and Assembly Decision by AU Heads of State and Government (Assembly/AU/Dec.274 (XVI)) to launch a continental Youth volunteer initiative. AU-YVC was officially launched on the 3rd December 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria.

WORKSHOP: Engaging Youths in Agribusiness: Mechanization, September, 2016

Youth Agripreneurs

IITA Youth Agripreneurs is partnering with Hello Tractor to train young Agripreneurs in Nigeria on the use of a ‘Smart Tractor’ designed by the company. The training which will commence in September after the project launch in Abuja on Monday, July 18, will bridge the gap in the use of ICT and mechanization in agriculture. The Hello Tractor project funded by USAID is another self-developed proposal of IITA Youth Agripreneurs after the Community Youth Agripreneurs project. The Hello Tractor which is a two year project project will give IYA the opportunity of providing training for 100 youths on the business of owning, maintaining, utilizing and promoting services for a fleet of smart tractors.

ACADEMY: UN Summer Academy, August 2016

The Academy will introduce in particular key features of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, including the Sustainable Development Goals, along with the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, engaging participants in a dialogue and exchange of practices requiring profound changes beyond ‘business as usual’ both in terms of substantive integration of the three pillars of sustainable development, as well as through new ways of working with partners from all segments of society.

The Africa Business Fellowship is a partnership between Econet, African Leadership Network (ALN), and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT). The program will match young American business professionals with paid 6-month placements in African companies. Its purpose is to strengthen relationships between the African and American business communities and provide future American business leaders with the hands-on experience they need to truly understand business in Africa. We believe that by exposing high-achieving American professionals to African business at this stage in their careers, we are setting the stage for increased American-African investment and more meaningful collaboration.

The International Youth Forum (IYF) will be held in Bali for six days, from 9-14 October 2016, parallel and in conjunction with the World Culture Forum (WCF). IYF invites the participation of youths from around the world, with a particular emphasis on independent thinking and social transformation, to represent the youth voice in an effort to mainstream culture into the agenda of development. The main theme of IYF, “Youth Culture for Social Transformation and Equality” is directly correlated to the WCF theme, “Culture for an Inclusive Sustainable Planet”.
