Summit: G(irls)20 Summit 2017 in Germany, Dec 2016

Clinton Global Initiative

The G(irls)20 Summit, a G(irls)20 flagship program, takes place annually in the G20 host country. Designed G20 style, the Summit brings together one delegate from each G20 country, plus a representative from the European and African Unions, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the MENA region. G(irls)20 Summit delegates are all girls, aged 18-23. Held in advance of the G20 Leaders’ meeting, the summit provides a unique opportunity for young female delegates from 20+ countries to make recommendations to G20 Leaders on how to increase female labor force participation - a key to economic growth - reduce poverty and increase a country’s GDP. The G(irls)20 Summit is a response to the G20 Leader’s commitment of 2014 to create 100 million new jobs for women by 2025.

We believe the most powerful lever of change in global health is great leadership. GHC is a leadership development organization devoted to recruiting and training the next generation of leaders in global health equity. All of our work is grounded in our core leadership practices. Our applicants are 30 years old and under, so we’re not expecting you to have years of senior leadership experience under your belt. Instead, we are looking for alignment with our leadership practices and values: strong evidence of leadership potential and some leadership experience along the lines of organizing, collaborating, and working to affect change, however subtle it may be. 

PROGRAM: Young Leaders Visitors Programme (YLVP), Nov 2016

The programme offers personal and professional development to leaders who work for positive social change in the fields of democracy, human rights, sustainability and equality. YLVP provides the tools necessary to accomplish greater social impact. YLVP builds and strengthens individual leadership through group-centric methods such as collaboration, feedback and reflection. Participants will learn in group from merited facilitators and from each other, through workshops, practical exercises and hands-on performance.

PROGRAM: Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) Program, Nov 2016

Singapore International Foundation

Through the YSE programme, participants will learn from and interact with leading social entrepreneurs, business professionals and other youth who are keen on social innovation, while expanding their networks for potential collaborations for good. The YSE programme includes a 4-day workshop in Singapore, mentorship scheme; overseas study visit and an opportunity to pitch for funding. All admitted YSEs will be able to join our network, and engage in alumni activities throughout the year.

TRAINING: Agribusiness Training Opportunity for Ghanaian Youth, Nov 2016

The Government of Ghana & Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA)

The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has secured funding for the training of the youth in the use of green (net) houses in the production of local and exotic vegetables. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated youth who are highly interested in producing vegetables for both the local and export markets. Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for enrolment into the 13-week training programme beginning in January 16, 2017.

Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS)

The 2017 application for the Yale Young African Scholars Program (YYAS) is now available! YYAS is a high-intensity program that brings together African secondary school students for a cost-free seven-day residential program designed to introduce students to the demanding U.S. university and financial aid application process and requirements. In 2016, YYAS hosted programs in Ghana, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe and welcomed 300 African high school students into its growing alumni network.

Students from Australia; Austria; Belgium; Canada; The Czech Republic; Denmark; Estonia; Finland; France; Germany; The Netherlands; Norway; Sweden; Switzerland and USA are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Asia Exchange enables students to take part in study abroad semesters and internships in Asia. They increase internationalization and streamline student mobility in a convenient and affordable way.

International Development Youth Forum

Applications are invited for the International Development Youth Forum in Japan on March 12 – 19, 2017. in 2013, was founded to provide the chance for youths with the interest in international development to meet each other, to know the situation in other countries, to share different ideas, and to create output for better society together. Despite of the great success in 2016, IDYF2017 will go beyond that of the previous forum by welcoming many highly motivated youths, who are willing to “design our future” with us in Tokyo, Japan.

AYLTLC aims to bring student leaders worldwide, through engaging activities, to enhance their abilities in cross-cultural interaction and cooperation, which will further equip them to be effective leaders. In addition, participants will be able to understand more about Singapore – a multiracial, multilingual and multicultural society from various perspectives. Nevertheless, what they will learn here may not only be unique to Singapore, but also applicable to their home countries as well as the increasingly interconnected and interdependent world.

Unreasonable East Africa

Every year, we run 10 month programs designed to get early stage high potential companies in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda what they need to grow. We select an exclusive group of fifteen companies for each of these programs, whom we work with intensively alongside our  100+ impressive mentors to get them into the best possible shape to grow. We then expose and connect them to our network of funders so that they can raise funding. But it does not end there. We and the entire UEA network continue to support our entrepreneurs for the life of their company and beyond.
